DESCRIPTION:Saturday Dec 13\, 2025          10:00 AM – 1:00 PM (Not 5PM)\nAdult Art Class: Unfolding Possibilities—Bookmaking\n \n\n\n\n\n\nMake your own handmade book using techniques that utilize folding\, gluing\, and sewing as you learn how to create an accordion-fold structure with pockets and to sew single signatures (gathering of pages) into the folds using a pamphlet stitch. You’ll find inspiration in the galleries to create your own unfolding possibilities! Taught by Debra Disman. \n \n\n\n\n\nSat\, Dec 13\, 2025\n\n\n10 am – 1 pm PT\n\n\nLACMA\n\n\nAges 16+\n\n\n​$80; Members $70\n\n\nPre-registration is required for all classes.\nFor additional art class information\, please contact artclasses@lacma.org.\nFor ticketing support\, contact ticketoffice@lacma.org.\n\n\n\n\nThis program takes place outdoors on LACMA’s campus on Saturday\, December 13. Parking validation and supplies are provided. DESCRIPTION:JOIN US!\n\nSaturday April 25th from 11AM to 3PM create your own one- of-a-kind artists’ book in conjunction with and response to the incredible Ralph Steadman show “And Another currently at the beautiful Torrance Art Museum! (TAM)\n\n\nExplore the show\, and add your own text and images to your book!\nOn view from March 28 – May 09\, 2026\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nMAIN GALLERY: Ralph Steadman: and Another Thing\nThis traveling exhibition spans over 60 years of Ralph Steadman’s influential career\, featuring more than 140 original artworks and ephemera\, including sketchbooks\, handwritten notes\, and personal photographs. Steadman is best known for his long collaboration with Hunter S. Thompson\, notably illustrating “Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas.” Their partnership helped define Gonzo journalism\, a style of reporting that blends personal experience with political commentary. Coined by journalist Bill Cardoso\, Gonzo’s impact is still felt today in online news\, editorial pieces\, social media\, and political punditry. \nThe exhibition showcases his diverse body of work\, from iconic illustrations for Lewis Carroll’s “Alice in Wonderland” and Robert Louis Stevenson’s “Treasure Island” to collections like “The Gonzovation Trilogy\,” created in collaboration with documentarian and filmmaker Ceri Levy to raise awareness about endangered species. Featured works include nine portraits of U.S. Presidents\, over 20 images of famous people\, including T.S. Eliot\, Karl Marx\, Virginia Woolf\, and George Orwell\, and “Vintage Dr. Gonzo\,” a life-size bronze sculpture. \nThis exhibition is organized by the Ralph Steadman Art Collection.
